Whats with ppl have surgical masks over their faces?

I work in the mall for about three year and i have seen about 4 differ. ppl with theses masks over their mouths and noses like drs. What is wrong with them? did they get a nose job, went to dentist or do they think they cannot breathe regular air? I have no idea why they wear that, have any of you had to? If so why?Whats with ppl have surgical masks over their faces?
The main reasons: prevent getting germs or pollutants. prevent spreading germs.


In a lot of Asian countries (like South Korea) the pollution is so bad, that having a mask cuts down on the damaging health effects that breathing the air has. It also filters out certain things like germs, tear gas, etc.


Some, like pregnant women like to wear it to prevent getting germs that may affect their children.


Others, are sick and don't like to spread them around, but still need to get things done in public.Whats with ppl have surgical masks over their faces?
Some people have bad allergies. My mom is allergic to perfumes, they give her migraines. A lot of people are allergic to dust. If you've ever been in Texas or Arizona where the dust storms are so bad you can't see, you'd understand their dilemma.





Some people are concerned about germs %26amp; illness. Maybe THEY are the ones who are sick and don't want to spread germs? Others could have a low tolerance because of illness or disease?





Lots of possibilities. I feel for them.
they might have tuberculosis.
It is possible that they have asthma and they do not want to inhale bad air since malls are notorious for having bad air since there are so many people, people who fart and have bad breath.
