Is a surgical mask a good accessory?

i want to make one my self, with cute fabric, and no, not cuz of the flu, but cuz i like it.


wud it be a good idea to make it? i dont want comments such as ';no, its ugly';, i mean as in, would i have to throw it out? and could bacteria even after the flu build up? cuz i mean, it shud probably be washed (if washable) very often, cuz any article of clothing can build up bacteria..Is a surgical mask a good accessory?
Personally I think a scarf or other neck/lower face accessory is very stylish. I don't think a surgical mask is a good idea because people might think you have an illness and also viruses are so small they can go through a surgical mask where as dirt, blood, dust, mold spores, bacteria are what they protect against, as those substances are much bigger.
